Emergency Consultations
The Sick Child
Dr Lutchman’s rooms are open from 08:00 until 17:00 Monday to Friday. We make provision for emergency consultations for sick children every day, and the sick child is always given priority.
Emergency care may be needed when a child has a high fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, acute pain, headache, abdominal pain, constipation, seizures, noisy or difficult breathing, severe restlessness or trauma.
As parents, you also know when something is out of the ordinary for your infant or child, and if these issues raise concern, Dr Lutchman is happy for you to make an appointment – be it an emergency one. Please discuss this with the friendly receptionist when calling for an appointment.
Dr Lutchman provides an after-hours service and shares this with other colleagues after 17:00 weekdays, weekends and public holidays. When a child is severely ill and in need of emergency care please proceed to the Life Kingsbury Hospital Emergency Room after hours. Once an evaluation has been done by the casualty doctor, ask him or her to call Dr Lutchman to discuss further treatment and management of your child’s condition.
